Well, we are getting ready to head out for our annual summer boating trip. As usual there is much being done at the last minute, so nothing has changed!! If we make good time we will be in Canada on Friday… Saturday for sure.
The biggest change this year is a new dinghy motor. If you remember the saga last year the motor didn’t like to run and for sure would not go in reverse. We splurged on a brand new 50 hp 4 stroke Tohatsu. It has electric trim and tilt which means I will be able to take the dinghy to shore and with the push of a button the motor will come and be out of the way. Yay! We have only broken the motor in for the first half hour of the long break-in process.
Another big change is a new anchor. We have a 66# Bruce anchor so if anyone needs our old anchor it is for sale. The Bruce is supposed to be the cat’s meow, so we will see. Maybe we should hang on to the old one until we decide if this works as good as advertised!
We moved the boat down to the yacht club dock today so we could put the radar arch up, put up the bimini and then tomorrow put the dinghy on. That bimini is going to be awesome again this year, especially with the hot temps they are predicting starting this week. And if it rains??? Who cares! The bimini will keep things dry on the bridge.
Verizon has changed their Canadian plan making it a bigger challenge to stay in touch without running up horrible bills, but we are trying to be creative and hope we understand their new plans. Oh, well. It is only money.
Hope you follow the blog this summer. I will post when I can and if I can upload pictures will try to add some of those along the way.
